Weekly Report/ Part 7

Recommendations

This is our seventh weekly report, and we didn’t even realize how the month went by so fast. We just blinked and suddenly February had come to an end. So, for this week, we’ve saved the best recommendations for you. Let’s dive in!

Reading: Where the Crawdads Sing – Owens Delia

The 'Marsh Girl' has always been a very talked about person in Barkley Cove. When Chase Andrews is mysteriously killed, rumors about her spread. The story of Kya, the girl who, having managed to survive alone with her seagulls, springs into a new life. The story of a girl who keeps her secrets well hidden.

Odd, dark, mysterious. An ode to nature and a coming-of-age story so different but also so similar to others. Delia Owens takes your breath away from the very first pages and we are sure that you won’t want to put this book down!

Expressing: Πατάτες με αυγά [Patates me avga] Podcast – Zakiller

As the team behind TEDxAUTH, we love our people and everything they do. So, we couldn’t not talk about this podcast.

Slow living, trash TV, books, love, travelling… Our beloved Zakiller welcomes some of our favorite people and they talk about everything. What’s life like at 23? What is love after all? What is going on with TEDxAUTH?

Definitely the most entertaining podcast and the only one we never get tired of listening to.

Planning: Aurora Borealis

The Northern Lights is a phenomenon that is caused by solar particles that appear as dynamic patterns of brilliant lights in the sky. Blue, green, white and red lights flood the night and there is no way it won’t fascinate you.

2024 is one of the years you are most likely to see the Northern Lights. How? Well, it’s time to arrange that trip you have been putting off for so long. The ideal destination are areas in countries of the northern hemisphere, close to the Arctic Circle: Iceland, Tromso in Norway, Swedish Lapland, Finland or Canada are ideal for seeing it. In fact, the period between August and April is optimal if you want to have a better chance to succeed!

Obsessing: All of us strangers by Andrew Haigh

Based on the book “Strangers” by Taichi Yamada, this movie is a constant struggle between reality and imagination. A movie which, besides the incredible performances by Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, will make you think and will give you an overwhelming feeling of melancholy. The painful reality of modern loneliness and the trauma of the protagonist will definitely give you a rush that only a few movies have managed to do so far. With a pack of tissues in hand, don’t miss the chance to see it at a local cinema.

Relaxing: Perspective.

There is nothing more relaxing than a glass of wine at your favorite corner of the house. Perspective with its incredible artwork can take care of that. Would you like a Bauhaus collection or are you more of a Matisse fan? One thing is for sure, Elena and Christina have taken into consideration all possible vibes and preferences.

Perspective puts its relaxing touch to the space. You put the wine and let all the stress of the month out.

Trying: Nuova Rosticceria di Salonicco (Armenopoulou 27, Thessaloniki)

We love Italian cuisine, and we don’t hide it. So, in Thessaloniki, we found this little gem hidden in the narrow streets of Rotoda. Delicious salads, countless authentic Italian pasta and traditional refreshments from Sicily are waiting for you to discover them! We should also note that the restaurant offers many vegan options! Make sure you make a reservation before you go, since they are always full.

So, these are our recommendations to end the month of love on a high note. Don’t waste any more time! With friends or on your own, fill your day with a little more art and good food.
